Earth Hour is back in its fourth year! On 27 March 2010 at 20:30 in each respective timezone, the lights will be switched off for one hour as a symbol of our commitment to the environment.
More countries and cities around the world have joined up this year to make it the largest to date. Around 100 iconic landmarks will take part including the world’s three tallest towers: Burj Khalifa (Dubai), CN Tower (Toronto) and Taipei 101 (Taipei).
In Australia: Rialto Tower, Arts Centre, Crown Casino (Melbourne), Sydney Tower, Harbour Bridge, Luna Park (Sydney), Story Bridge (Brisbane), Rundle Mall Lantern, Town Hall (Adelaide), National War Memorial and National Library (Canberra).
Japan will participate in Earth Hour for the first time with the dimming of lights at the Hiroshima Peace Memorial. The lights going out on Las Vegas’ main strip would also be one to watch.
So on 27 March 2010 at 8:30pm, please switch off all the lights in your house for the benefit of our environment.
