I am now imagining walking into a Cafe de Coral (大家樂), Fairwood (大快活) or traditional eatery (茶餐廳) in Hong Kong and ordering a french toast (港式西多士) with a hot coffee+tea (熱鴛鴦) for afternoon tea (下午茶).
Whilst slowly consuming the french toast, an even better thought came into my mind. How about also ordering a 咖央西多士 (kaya toast) too! Filled with the smell of pandan leaf and coconut, this spread has an incredibly sweet flavour. It’s absolutely delicious, and would definitely put one on a sugar high afterwards. Watch out.
