Made up of 20 profiteroles with vanilla and chocolate cream centres surrounded by a hazelnut chocolate mousse, this Bianco Nero (literally white black) cake from Mezzapica in Leichhardt was definitely a crowd favourite. Whilst it had a very creamy texture, it was surprisingly not too rich or overwhelmingly sweet. It would have been better with more strawberries to add an extra dimension of tartness. However, the whisps of dark chocolate did help to cut through the sweetness with its slightly bitterness. There were no leftovers for seconds, so the consensus was clear.
Work’s great when you get fantastic morning teas and great colleagues to share it with. I think this cake was roughly $35. A very nice feast for the stomach to celebrate the four scorpio birthdays.
